Hurricane Hairdo and Beauty Considerations

June 22nd, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Lance Winslow Most meteorologists and weather predictions are stating now that the 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season will be one of the largest on record and that means it will be a bad hair day. You need to consider a new hurricane hairdo to maintain your image during the hurricane season. You can expect very hot and high winds from tropical storms, tropical depressions and of course the small and large category hurricanes. Even if you evacuate during mandatory evacuation; you may still experience high winds up to 1000 miles away from where the hurricane actually makes landfall and you may not have time to keep brushing your hair every five minutes or more and keep it perfect. Therefore you must maintain a hairstyle, which is conducive to very high and hot winds so that your hair falls back into place effortlessly. This is why the hurricane hairdos and other beauty considerations are among the top priorities for women during the 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season. If you’re planning your evacuation procedure and necessary supplies away from the hurricane area of the potential landfall strike then you’ll need to take certain makeup with you and you should be advised that you may lose sleep and even stay in your car overnight because many of the hotel rooms will be filled. You’ll need a simple haircut to prevent you from having a bad hurricane hair day and you will need to take simple beauty aids to freshen yourself up without being able to take a shower. Hurricanes are serious business and therefore you need to take your hairdo and beauty supplies serious. Consider always the 2006. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Night Fishing Preparation, The Key To Success

June 15th, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Daniel Eggertsen Preparation is the Key To Successful Night Fishing, You Better Have These… Night fishing requires quite a bit more preparation than daytime fishing does. Even if you “think” you know the waters pretty well, you need to take extra precautions when fishing at night. If you are night fishing from a boat, you have even more to think about. Make sure you have enough flotation devices onboard and that they are easily accessible. If someone falls overboard, it is much more difficult to see them at night, so you need to be able to throw a flotation device out to them quickly. Proper lighting on your boat is also essential. Enough flashlights and batteries should be an obvious commodity, but you would be surprised how many times those batteries that you “thought” were new, die off within minutes of the trip. You should have a GPS monitor at all times (good compasses are better than nothing if you can’t afford a GPS). However, don’t go out and buy a GPS right before your first night-fishing voyage. Buy one in advance and learn how to use it first! Trust me, it is no fun trying to read the manual when it’s pitch dark and you’re lost. Not only are the tree stumps harder to see at night, so are the shallow waters. It definitely pays to learn the waters well before heading out at night. Before you venture out into the darkness, make sure you let someone know (back onshore) where you are going or are planning to go. If you aren’t back home at a specific time you suggest, at least others will know where to start looking for you. It’s also a good idea to pack your insect repellant. Night fishing not only brings out the best fish, but also the meanest bugs. It’s prime feeding time for many insects, and to them, you look pretty tasty on that open water. Prepare your rods, reels and lures BEFORE you hit the water. There is nothing worse than getting out in the water and realizing you forgot to bring your favorite lure. A little nap during the afternoon before you head out is also a good idea. Of course, if you are catching a lot, I doubt you will be tempted to doze off. And remember, safety always comes first. I am yet to see a fish worth getting seriously injured or killed over. 10 Pounds to Lose and What to Do?

June 7th, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Dave Poon Got 10 pounds to lose? Dont torture yourself by not eating and taking weight reducing drugs that may not be beneficial to you in the long run. You may be dying to lose unwanted fat in your body but you dont have to do it in an instant. Have patience and gradually and diligently work on your aim. Soon youll realize those 10 pounds you ought to lose will just be a part of history. So you have 10 pounds to lose? Check out these simple yet effective ways to lose ten pounds gradually and safely: Exercise The best way you can do to get rid of those ten pounds is to exercise. The reason why you get fat and gain weight is that the calories (energy) your body has gotten from the food that you eat are more than what your body needs or what you utilize. The excess calories not burned up are then stored in form of fat. The stored fat becomes your alternative source of energy when what you eat is not enough to provide for your energy requirements. However, when you consistently take in more calories, the tendency of your body is to store more excess calories in form of fat. The unconsumed fat is the one that makes gain weight. Exercising would help you burn those stored calories and thus prevent weight gain. As you increase your physical activities, more and more energies are consumed so calories that you take in dont accumulate in your system as fats. However, bear in mind that exercising is essential to good health and should not only be done if youve got 10 pounds to lose. Make it a habit in order for you to maintain your good health even as you grow older. Eat the Right Food and the Right Amount of Food Eating the right kind of food, that is, low-calorie food and the right amount of food is very important if you are serious about losing weight. The principle here is that you have to take in only the right amount of calorie you shall be consuming as all the excess will just be stored as fat. Also, drink lots of water. Sleep Early and Get up early Most people do not realize they have already gained so much weight within certain period of time. This is because gaining weight can be a long and sluggish process. Everyday, you gain a pound or two without noticing it. Then suddenly when you check your weight you realize you already got 10 pounds added to your weight, which means you got 10 pounds to lose as well. For most busy people, exercising may not be a good idea as it may take much of their time. Sleeping early and waking up early in the morning can be one of your alternatives. Getting up early means doing more things earlier. Since you do not eat much or you probably eat much healthier food in the morning, you are more likely to burn calories (as you move around the house, prepare your breakfast and your things) from fat that have already been there in your system. Moreover, if your reason for not exercising is your lack of time, getting up early would give you time for exercise, even just the basics such as brisk walking for a few minutes. Scrapbooking How Tos: From Nothing to Something

June 1st, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Stan Beck So you have decided to create your own scrapbook work of art. Here is the step-by-step process you can follow to creating a one of a kind scrapbook Shopping. Yes, the best part of everything. It is as exciting as your birthday celebration. And no one can resist it. Shop for the supplies you need. Shop for the essentials such as the album, album refill, adhesives, card stock, embellishments, papers, pens, punches, stamps, embossing, stickers, a pair of scissors and everything you need for your scrapbooking project. Tip: Buy only acid-free adhesive, permanent marking and non-fade pens and inks. Your aim is to preserve memorabilia for years. These things will save you from messing up with your scrapbook. Gather your memories. Get as many photos as you can. Depending on your theme and the aim you want to achieve, you can sort them according to their relations to one another. For example, you can make a bibliography through scrapbook, then, you grab pictures from your childhood up to now. Sort them out according to the year they were taken. Tip: If you are grabbing old photos, make sure that your hands are clean. Old photos can easily be destroyed with oil and dirt from your hands. Old photos are also brittle so you may want to handle them with extra care. Another tip: If you want to preserve old photos, you can scan them to your computer and make a copy. Doing this would also let you edit the quality of the photo or crop the particular portion you only want to have. One more tip: If you want to take some recent photos, use digital cameras. In this way, you can take as many photos as you could without wasting film. Upload all the photos you have taken, then, print the ones you have selected. Gather your supplies Let your imagination take you anywhere. From the supplies you have, create a scrapbook that is truly yours. Decorate the front page of the album with your chosen general theme. A delicate combination of colored papers, pens, photos and creativity would let you create a good front page. On the inside, decorate each page with distinct designs. For additional decorations, you can consider using a paper trimmer, punches, circle cutter, decorative rulers, paper rolling ball glue pen, or putting on some templates, stickers, computer clipart, rubber stamps, and colorful decorations you can find on magazines. Use the right adhesives to secure what you have placed on your scrapbook. There are several of these: double-sided adhesive dots, photo tape, glue pens, photo corners, non-permanent glue, squares or strips, glue sticks, and bottled glues. Putting them all together The most difficult part of the whole scrapbook making is putting all the stuff together, so here are some of the tricks: Your options are more flexible if you are using photocopied pictures. You can cut them in to different shapes and sizes or you can decide the pictures size. Placing them to the pages is easier if you keep the space free; then decorate it afterwards. The best way to cut papers and photos would be using this trick: think twice and cut with no hesitation. Use a sharp pair of scissors. Exploring your creativity in cutting would give better impact to every page of your scrapbook. Journaling Adding some handwritten text also involves creativity. Putting some captions, names, dates by hand would let give some personal touch on each page. The use of templates and paper cut outs would also be great. When using pens, make sure that they are acid-free which avoid degrading the scrapbooks image. Use different colors for each page. You can ask your friends and family members to help you write something on the pages. Finishing touches Use some additional decorations for final touches. Stickers, handwritten shapes, and paper cut outs are some of the things you can add as your final touches. Compile the pages carefully and share it with friends. Now that your have your own scrapbook, you can add pages anytime you want to and you can keep your memories alive for as long as you keep your scrapbook alive. Marketing Students: 5 Guidelines For Your Final Paper

May 26th, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Otilia Otlacan Get motivated! (’Why do I write this paper?”) This is a basic question with a not-so-basic answer. In order for a job to be done well and your dissertation paper is, in fact, a job to be performed you should give yourself time to figure out why you will do it and get yourself motivated. No motivation no job quality, any professional can confirm that. Here are some possible answers to the motivational question: - Because it is a must if you do not do it, you do not graduate; - Because, if done with responsibility, it is an excellent opportunity to stand out from the crowd and your peers the Marketing job market gets busier with every day; - Because you can practice your research skills while being directed and supervised by professionals (eg. your university professors); - Because it could be a starting point for your career. We all know the more you think about it, the more answers you can find. Once you have your motivational level raised, you will surely want to start your paper right away. Choose your subject (”What should I write about?”) Allow yourself plenty of time to think what subject you would like to pick for your paper. In some cases, your professors already have a list of subjects from where you can choose one but sometimes they would happily accept your own subject, providing it is of interest and you convince them of your reasons. Consider the following, before you go for a subject or another: - “Marketing” is a broad field which of its aspects do you feel more interested into, and more comfortable discussing about? Do you recall any particular course / chapter / subject that raised your interest at a time? - Why would your subject be of importance and who would be your auditorium? - Is your subject researchable? Is there any academic literature base on the subject? - Do you think you can come up with a personal contribution to the subject? - Do you see yourself developing that topic further on? - Can you name at least a couple of persons who can guide you? Would they be willing to do that for you? Documentation, documentation and… documentation “Documentation” is a magic key for any successful paper. Student or acknowledged professional, once you made up your mind about the subject of the paper, most of your efforts will be directed (or should be directed) towards documentation. Depending on your subject, on your knowledge and your search capabilities, you might want to start with this even 1 2 years prior to raduation date, in order to have enough time to collect and review as much information as possible. Major information resources: libraries, bookshops, internet, newspapers and magazines (consider subscribing to main specialized magazines in your field!), university printings, company exhibitions and presentations. Build your paper You do not have to review the whole documentation before you start to lay the bricks of your paper. Usually, such works are done using the “top-down” strategy, meaning you start with the major lines and then you develop the minor ones. You can compare this strategy with the action of drawing a tree: you might want first to draw the tree trunk, then the major branches, you will draw then some smaller branches growing from the big ones, and at the end you draw the leaves and flowers. Therefore, once you are clear with the subject and the basics of your paper the trunk of the tree, you can start organizing your chapters the major branches. Generally, you wont have less than 3 main chapters and more than 6 7: remember your paper has to offer a valuable content but in the same time it has some space limits (for example you could be told not to exceed 70 pages including the appendix and graphics). As you go on with your documentation, you will probably feel the need to reorganize the chapters and subchapters several times this is the way of any good writing, so don’t be afraid of doing it as long as you stick to your subject and your chapters are part of a whole, “flowing” one from each other. Consult with you supervisor for any major changes, and ask directions if you feel the documentation is overwhelming, it becomes difficult to discern from the large amount of information and you feel like losing your coherency. As a future Marketing professional, creativity is a basic skill as well as analytical thinking: you should prove them by including your own comments, opinions and conclusions upon the subject and not limit yourself to present only what other people said. Be critical to yourself and to others. Don’t be afraid to bring out your own vision that’s what counts the most! Writing style Your paper is an academic piece of work, and so it should look and feel like. Give a lot of attention to your writing style: - language issues keep an academic and formal style, with no colloquial expressions and no slang terms. Be very precise and avoid hypes (yes, yes, we know it’s hard to do it especially when you’re a Marketing or Advertising professional-to-be) and irrational use of superlatives (”the best”, “the greatest”, “the most” ). For a professional look, avoid using vague expressions such as “some authors say”, be specific and precise! A common mistake is to assume some things are obvious or known: no, they’re not obvious to everyone, so you have to justify your statements (okay except maybe if you’re saying that “1+1=2″…) - grammar issues nothing can cut enthusiasm for a paper more than poor spelling and grammar! Check check check and check again your grammar before submitting your work: make use of the grammar facilities included in the word processors, ask your friends to proofread your paper, use dictionaries and grammar books every time you’re unsure about something. - layout and other issues: keep a professional clean simple layout, and stick to one font type (eg. Arial, Times New Roman or Verdana). Unless you’re asked to submit your paper in another layout, you might want to leave 3 cm (1,2 in) edges on both left and right side, use line spacing at 1.5 and font sizes 10 to 12 (depending on the font type) for normal text, with chapter title sized at 14. Double check your quotations to be acknowledged, and make sure the tables and drawings are numbered correctly. Take a final look at your work and ask yourself if you’re feeling proud of it. If the answer is a strong “yes!”, youre probably ready to present it. Presentation the final torment! Let’s not forget these guidelines were written especially for Marketing students. For you, the presentation of your paper should count much more than for other students, since it is a way to promote yourself and your work. If you fail at marketing your own person, how can you be successful in marketing something / someone else? This is the reason why you should dedicate a lot of time and energy to this apparently insignificant last issue. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that since your paper content is great, it will speak for yourself. It will not! You have to bring out the strengths of the paper and try to minimize its weaknesses, if any. Treat your paper like it is a new product that needs to be launched, and your teachers are the consumers. Make them “buy” your paper, make them enthusiastic about it! Start your presentation with an introduction of how the paper subject attracted you, then shortly point the elements of novelty you bring in. After that, you can proceed with the content briefing: keep short and very objective. Talk loud and clear and note people’s attention level: try to keep them awake but if you see them drowsing, you can refresh the atmosphere by changing your tonality or inserting a joke. At the end, don’t forget to conclude: a paper with no conclusion is an unfinished pointless paper! Sustain your speech with a proper visual support: in most cases, a projector would do a great job. Be careful of how you build your slides: use 80% drawings and figures and only 20% text, as the human eye and brain respond much better to suggestive drawings instead of regular boring text. Pay attention to coherency: your presentation must flow and your ideas must have continuity. Practice your speech at home or in front of your friends, ask for comments and critics. Good luck!!! Rembrandt’s Religious Art

May 14th, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Jessie Corbett Throughout his long and prolific career, Rembrandt repeatedly turned to the bible as a source of inspiration. He produced many paintings, drawings and etchings that depicted scenes and characters taken from the Old Testament and Apocrypha. He also devoted his talents towards bringing to life people and places found in the New Testament, but most particularly the faces and events that pertained directly to the life of Jesus Christ. Rembrandt was a deeply religious man, and his connection to religion was a source of comfort during the dark times of his life. The period of Rembrandts religious art reveals a great deal about the artist and illustrates what inspired him. It was in the late 1650s that Rembrandt began to focus on portraits of religious figures. This was a time in his life when he and his family where subjected to great tragedy due to the death of two of his children, Hendrickje and Titus. To make matters worse, Rembrandt was forced to declare financial insolvency in 1656 and auction off his extremely valuable art collection and all of his household possessions. In an effort to find solace during these times of grief and darkness, Rembrandt began to paint religious portraits and scenes. Included in his now-famous dramatic religious art are depictions of Christ and the Virgin, the Apostles, namely James, Paul, Bartholomew and Simon, the Evangelists, Monks and Saints. Amongst all of Rembrandts religious art, one of his most famous pieces is his self-portrait as the Apostle Paul, dated 1657. In Rembrandts religious art, the faces of Apostles and Saints alike, peer out from the darkness of dimly-lit rooms. Rembrandt painted each religious characters face to reflect the burden of spiritual and also emotional conflicts. In The Apostle Bartholomew, 1657, Batholomew sits in a gloomy room painted with startlingly rich colors. The only light in the room falls on Bartholomews face, which is clearly framed in an expression of concern. Another piece that portrays the burden of worry and sorrow is the famous The Virgin of Sorrows, 1661. Again, Rembrandt makes use of vibrant colors and dim light to convey the feeling of a troubled mind and soul. Rembrandts religious art depicts the personality of an artist whose ability to create profound depth of expression in his characters most certainly arose from an understanding and compassion for these figures that goes beyond their iconic status. Physically, each character appears to come alive, and upon further reflection, one can observe Rembrandts unmatched skill to also accurately portray the state of their psychological being. For over 80 years scholars have debated over whether Rembrandts religious paintings formed a larger series. And still today, there is no conclusive evidence to suggest that the artist was working on a series of paintings of biblical figures. Nonetheless, Rembrandts religious art remains some of the most important work of his career. The biblical paintings offer new insight into his techniques, but more importantly they say something very profound about the artist, his beliefs and his unmatched ability to see into and paint the human soul. Only The Best Unique Wedding Gift Ever

May 9th, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Christine Morgan This unique wedding gift is for my buddy Nolan and his new bride; this gift is going to floor them (no doubt about it).Nolan and Linda announced their intention of marriage two years ago. Today is the day for the marriage, and I am bubbling all over. It feels like a hundred Christmas eves all in one day.I need to bring you up to speed. The night Nolan announced his marriage plans, I ran like a chicken with its head cut off to prepare for it. And why? I want for them to experience their day over and over again at least one thousand times, like forever and a day. Knowing Nolan and Linda as I do, I have had years to know their hearts desires. I have never seen two people so passionatly in love with each other. If the law of attraction were a Photo, you would see a photo of linda & Nolan. I took a full day and dwelt on finding the one unique wedding gift idea (without a doubt) that would floor them at the same time. While eating at my favorite restaurant, I got it! I got it! I got it! I got only the best unique wedding gift idea ever; one that they can share equally at the same time and last vertually forever. I ‘m now on cruise control, a man on a mission with a purpose driven life to make this long in comming dream a reality. I got in my jag and took a little drive to a desolate place where Nolan and I use to camp, a place where we use to think about things, and a good place to just get out of the city; a place where we could not be found. I am not going to keep you in suspense any longer. This place is our private place. I have actually thought about this unique wedding gift idea years ago. I feel this is the ideal spot to put a house on for Nolan and Linda when they finally decide to get married. My fantasy, this unique wedding gift is going to be really special. This unique wedding gift is going to be more than grand, it’s going to be so good that they may say that they cannot except such a gift. This place was our place (our retreat). A few years ago I bought 200 acres around this spot; talked to my architect buddy to make the plans for this humongous house and grounds. It took about nine months to make the plans for this uniquewedding gift. This house will be something that when you seethe word ‘exquisite’(in the dictionary, you will see this house next to it. They will never want to leave home; indeed,we designed it so they don’t have to leave it. It took another nine months (just about) to build it and furnish it. I then called Nolan and asked where they intend to have the wedding, and he said that Linda ’s father is making those plans and has not finalize it yet. Remember where we use to go, our hide-away? “Of course”, he says. There is a mansion there now. As a favor to me, would you mind if I talked to Linda’s father and make a suggestion? And as he always says, “have-at-it”. Now, that was the crack in the door for me. You see, I actually talked to Linda’s father months ago and it has already been negotiated. Let me show you the unique weddinggift. As you drive through the 20-foot high gate you can see the first 30 acres leading to the front of the house. On the left you will behold a small lake with a bridge walkway leading to the gazebo in the center of the lake. Gazing into the waters you can see large fishes of all colors. Driving on to the front of the house, the driveway turns into a circle with one way in and one way out. The center islandscaped with beautiful flora. As you approach the large double doors, one of the doors opens while a friendly voice says, “please proceed to the study on the left and someone will greet you in a moment.” Once in the study, another sexy voice says,” please, I havemade a snack for you that is on the table, make yourselves at home as your host will meet you shortly.” I can go on forhours describing this unique wedding gift; but we are goingto continue this tour at another time as the wedding serviceis about to commencing and I am the best man. After the wedding, all of our closest friends and family spent the day and night in this grand house. At dinner, I proposed a toast to the newlyweds. “I am not a speechwriter by any means but my childhood friend Nolan and his lovely wife Linda is a fairytale just beginning and I want you twoto love each other always. Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after. Please spend your days and nights in your brand new home. Here are your unique wedding gift keys to the castle. As youalways say, Have-at-it!” Chris & Ted MorganSuccess seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit. All About The Mattress!

May 3rd, 2008 by cameynekueey

By Lisa Sparillo Those of us who think that mattresses are just something to plunk ourselves on and while away the night, couldnt be more wrong. We simply might have to rethink again. The fact is that we spend one-fourth of our lives in bed and what should demand our maximum attention often goes unnoticed- for example the mattress that we sleep on. We make the mistake of undermining the importance of mattresses by considering them to be just another part of our furniture. But this is not so. A bad mattress can be worse than the cavity in your tooth. It can cause spinal problems, muscles aches and sleep problems. The net result would be a stressed head over an equally unhealthy body. So be very careful about choosing the mattress where you will be spending a good proportion of your life. There are different types of mattresses available in the market today and what we decide to buy depends solely on our needs and specifications. For some foam mattresses might be the ideal choice while you may find others swearing by a spring mattress. Waterbeds and airbeds are other popular form of mattresses with their own set of merits and demerits to follow. The reason why people dont prefer air- beds is because they are designed for temporary sleeping rather than daily usage. Its good to have an air mattress around when you are out camping or if you have guests over at your place. As for the water beds, they arent considered to be very practical either because of the weight that they carry. Many homes are not designed to take the weight of a waterbed in one place. A very popular myth running amongst most people is that hard mattresses are better in comparison to the softer ones. But this is not necessarily true. What is more important is the consistency of the surface of the mattress. The mattress should not cause pressure points in your body and leave you feeling sore. It should feel comfortable and should be in alignment with your spine so as to avoid any unwanted pressure on your other muscles and body parts. What Is The Right Time To Change Your Mattress? It is very essential for the user to know when his mattress needs to be replaced. Sometimes the regular use of the mattress might leave behind the impression of your body on it. In such cases you should try rotating or turning your mattress every three months at the least. Moreover the most important signal that your mattress might give you will be its inability to help you in a good nights sleep. Thats right- when you start feeling uncomfortable in your old mattress or if you get up every morning with a sore back you can be sure that your mattress is desperately crying out for its retirement. If you are prepared to buy a new replacement for your mattress be sure to check it out for yourself. Lie down on it and see if you are comfortable enough. If it meets both your price as well as comfort level then you can be sure that you have made the right choice! Lisa Sparillo for http://www.mattress-information.com.
